I am not sure if this is the right section but...
I have 2 dead Olive trees that are about 30ft tall, they are being removed and mulched in Tuesday. I was thinking of mulching the chicken run with it to keep the mud down, but I can't find any info on toxic levels or anything!!

Also if anyone know if it lowers or raises the soil PH I would appreciate that info!

Olive wood is not known for being toxic. It's often used for cutting boards, salt & pepper shakers, pipes, salad bowls & utensils, etc. The rule of thumb is if the tree produces edible fruit, leaves or flowers the wood is not toxic.

If the olive wood is spalted (dark attractive lines caused by bacteria and moulds) it shouldn't be used as mulch. You wouldn't want to put anything mouldy in with the chickens.

Otherwise, olive wood should be fine as a mulch for chickens.
