Not gonna argue. View attachment 3724171It's possible if they stop producing the blue pigment for some reason.

I have an EE that lays beautiful blue eggs... or did for 18months. She molted big time this summer and hasn't laid a blue egg since. She has just started to lay one or two 'tanish' eggs per week. Anybody else see a difference after molt?

I have 3 RIR’s and live in Cleveland,oh. When winter hit I would usually get 1 maybe 2 eggs a day. I switched there feed to kalmbach hen house reserve, and have been fermenting there feed(really easy to do). I also throw in some dried meal worms at the end of the day. After a week or two, I’ve been getting 2-3 eggs daily, most days it’s 3. It’s been single digit temps and still they will all lay. Not using any artificial light at all either. I’m guessing something with the feed is helpingYes - hens will stop laying as much, or not at all, during the winter months. They need 12 hrs of daylight or artificial light a day to lay consistently. I have a light on a timer in my hen house and everyone continues to lay throughout the winter. Some believe it is good to give them a break, but I don't know if that is anthropomorphic or not. They also take a break from laying when they molt.
