Yes, Marans can be tricky to hatch; they need less humidity during incubation due to the thicker layers of pigment over the shell. I always incubate my Marans eggs in a separate incubator so that I can control this.

ETA: If you're looking to get a really dark olive, this will also apply to those eggs; once you reach that point where they have such thick pigment coating, they will have similar humidity requirements.
