That was a stupid explanation if you aren't familiar with Paints. I'm fixing it.
There are 4 main "patterns" in the Paint horse breed. Solid, Tobiano, Overo, and Tovero - Tobi X overo. There are also different patterns within the Overo group. I won't go into all that.
Overos look like you took a solid colored horse and threw white paint on them. The white should not cross the back. At all.
An overo is a paint with no white on the back?
