I always envisioned the tapered monstrosity I saw in the movies when an eye was ripped out.

There’s a 2mm bundle of nerves that controls the eyeball. Nerves for the orbital muscles. All of them are tethered at the rear with a ligament of sorts, and there’s enough slack so they can move with the eyeball. It’s fascinating, and surprisingly delicate.

A doctor. I would not have done well with a job that really does not allow for an actual life. Always at the beck and call of sick people is not appealing now that I look back at it.
