In previous threads my suspicious pair were both declared roosters but I think that our suspicions were probably wrong. Here are some current photos:

Omelet:

Previous thread here.

10 weeks, Omelet on the right, Dumpling on the left.

12 weeks today -- no male saddle feathers

Omelet is under the green chair. The comb is redder, but no bigger.

And Picatta:

Previous thread here.

I think it's just poor lacing at this point (10 weeks).

Compared to Popcorn (SLW in front, the LB in back is Dumpling):

What do you think?

I'm hoping I can be confident soon, because unless something unexpected happens it's time for me to reduce my 7 to 4, or 5 at the most, until I can build larger facilities. I'll be selling these two since their breed-sisters are both larger and better-marked but not without being sure they actually ARE started pullets. :)

Both pullets, although I'd like more photos of the LB.
I see zero male saddling.

That's what I'm thinking. No male saddle feathers -- just fluffy roundness -- and no male hackles. Though of course Colombian patterning is always tricky unless you can see the feather in profile to determine if the feather is point or just the coloring.

It's hard to get good pictures of Omelet because she's so active -- always foraging. When I part with her I can be confident that though I'm keeping my preferred birds I'll be selling healthy ones.
