OMG Anyone ever got a 3x yolker?*****Pic of inside on PG. 4******

Quote:
People have tried to hatch twins from double yolkers, and it HAS happened. But it is pretty rare that both chicks livelong enough to pip or make it past pipping. and it's even more rare when both chicks hatch out all the way but don't make it. It has happened, when both chicks hatch out and live with not many problems at all. But usually when people attempt this, no matter how much care you give it, usually both form until they start to crowd inside the egg, then sometimes one dies(usually the small one) because it's too small and the other one is big and it crushes it. Then, if your lucky, the big chick may pip and zip, and MAYBE will get passed that, but then it will die because of too much of something(like calcium or something like that but I can't remember) and the chick that survives last will usually be very big from feeding off the smaller, weaker one.
So, yes it is possible and many have tried it. but it's a hard process and usually disappointing in the end.
But it's possible!!!

We have gotten a double yolker once or twice from our red star hen. Not often does it happen though. Very cool!

It is so cool.
I will crack it open in a minute. I am going through my email. Stay online and you will see a pic in about 5 mins.

Here it is. I thought that this was the triple yolker egg. It is actually a HUMONGOUS double yolker. The other one is probably the triple yolker.

Neat-o! I think we got a double yolker from our ee yesterday! We keep sitting there looking at it... I wonder when we will crack ours open! I wanted to keep it by blowing it out, but then I am not sure I would see the yolks inside.

Thanks for sharing!

We did get a triple yolker about 3 weeks ago, and a double one the same day. In fact was cooking breakfast, and cracked the triple and the double one after the other. Unfortunately it didn't occur to us to grab the camera and really don't know what we were thinking to not take a pic.
