How strange. I have been buying my eggs from another local farmer, so far nothing that eggciting. I did get one bloody egg. I thought this was strange since she doesn't have any roos. Is that normal?

Yeah that is normal. It is just something that occured during the making of the egg. I just pull the blood spot out and eat the rest of the egg.

Wow! That's pretty cool. I once had double yolk with a half of a triple yolk. AMAZING!

If a double or triple yolk egg is fetilized and you try to hatch it what will happen? Is any of it viable? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get more than 1 chick cause there just simply wouldn't be room. Right?

I am at school now but i will crack it open later. I am not sure who it came from but i might have to set up a camera to figure it out. I will say that it dropped and cracked.....lol

You know, I've got a hen that lays me huge eggs now and then (I call them "wombos"). The largest was 4.10 ounces, and I thought for SURE it would be a triple, but nope! Kinda disappointing.

Oh, and double yolkers do not hatch. I read online where someone supposedly successfully hatched 2 out of a double yolker, but typically they are unhatchable. There's thread on here where Speckledhen tried to hatch a double...if anyone could do it, SHE certainly could with all her experience; it did not work.
