OMG Busted

I had to come in and hide for a moment until my face stopped looking like a red stop light. I was cleaning out the front flower beds and of course Lulu, the lame runt was supervising so she could clean up the bugs as I picked up the old leaves, etc. I filled the wheelbarrow and went to the back to check on the progress of DH and DS putting in poles to extend the grape arbor. Anyway, coming back to the front I failed to notice my neighbour working in his garden pruning fruit trees (we have a common side fence). As I near the house I hear Lulu nattering about where was I because I left her to do all the work herself. I started yakking back at her in a loud voice saying, "OK, you can go to the back to supervise dad now because I was taking a break." As I'm talking away to her I notice my neighbour watching me with a weird look on his face. Ooops, busted. Now I have to explain that I was talking to my chicken not myself because he can't see Lulu from where he is standing. He kind of gives a chuckle and says "Oh I thought you were talking to Barry" (my DH). Is my face red or what!

Nothing wrong with talking to your chickens.

But I probably would have been red faced too!

I'm so glad my neighbors are too far away to see me because I'm always talking to the animals!

yeah i have been talking to my animals since I was a kid... they do talk back in their own ways
