These little guys are tough! I was unsure of the dates on these eggs, since everyone of them came from a broody button's nest. She had 22 eggs total, so I knew the other girls were laying with her, since I 'normally' collect the eggs daily. Obviously, since one of the girls was broody, and they all share a nest, I had no idea which were fresh and which were not.

I had 7 babies hatch, over a 3-4 day period. First baby hatched on the 22nd, and the last (till now) baby hatched the 25th.

Because of I had 2 or 3 of the others hatch in the turner (and one of those babies died because of it

) I decided to just keep the button eggs in the hatcher.

I had coturnix and guineas hatching the past couple of days, so I've been in and out of the hatcher quite a bit.
I have no more coturnix eggs in there, so I decided to clean the bottom part of the bator, and just leave the button eggs under the top. They are in a cool whip bowl, so they couldn't be trampled by the other eggs.

I looked in there to see what the temp was, and I'll be darned, there are 2 more button babies in there!! With no bottom on the incubator, temps at 97.5, and humidity at 41%!!!

Amazing!! These little guys must really be tough! It looks like there was another that had a pip, so I'll see tomorrow if there are anymore.....

Silly birds!!

It wouldn't surprise me, after all, there were 2 other hens laying in the nest! I had another one hatch yesterday, but it wasn't the egg that looked pipped! So now I have 8 baby buttons and 12 more eggs to go. Then once these eggs are donw, I have 12 or so more eggs in the bator. The 'toss date' for these eggs is the same date that the other eggs are due

I believe it's the 10th.
