OMG Computer Geeks building a coop

You have a fantastic hubby to do this for you!! And to even think ahead about you possibly wanting more chickens. My hubby is building me a coop too. He too will spend weeks researching and planning, but to prevent the planning from taking 1000 years, I went out and bought the chicks. Now he has to build the coop. He loves to build things, but he loves to plan even more.

Yay them, be glad they didn't just draw something up on CAD and hand your your coop design! (do they still call it CAD- obvously I'm not one of them.... the computer geeks that is!) I'm sure it will turn out great!

kemcloughlin- I love it!!! Buy the chickens first

I think the coop turned out great and to back it up to the carport so you don't get wet getting eggs is awesome.

My son is turning into quite the computer geek, so as a single mom.... I have him out doing handy work all the time. Trying to save all those girls out there

I have taught him how to till, garden, run horse fence, build a 4 stall horse barn, lay carpet, replace a ceiling, and NOW... redoing the roof on the back part of the house and then a chicken coop

Maybe he will learn some safety tips for the future.

That picture is PRICELESS!!!!!

umm, I did the same thing. I have 6 - 8 week old chickens that went straight in as soon as the paint dried. And I already have the ducks too. They just grow so much faster then the chickens do. they are only 5 weeks old and have already out grown a very large tote and moved into the now empty brooder/grower box.
