Your babies are beautiful!
And having a crest is not a death sentence for a duck!!
It is just that embryos who receive the crested gene from both parents die at a very early stage of development. Grown up ducks with large crests should be isolated from mating drakes because the drakes will grab the crest for mating. That pom pom is very small and they could very well be drakes…
