A third chick just hatched! Pictures after I get home from work and it's had a chance to dry off!

Here's Tres, still a bit damp. I'm guessing an orpington mommy, and as for daddy...um... no clue.

And surprise surpise! Quatro hatched while I was at work!


Quatro's mommy was an Easter Egger. I am not sure who daddy might be.

lol Yeah, I was really surprised that she let me handle her and her babies without batting an eyelash. Everything I'd heard said broodies were really fierce, but she's become friendlier towards me since going broody than she was before.

We got nice weather this past week, so the chicks got to spend a lot of time outside. They're even proficient at getting up and down the ramp now, so Mama can lead them in and out at will. Here's some photos of Mama Hen teaching the babies how to get around outdoors.
