Boards and concrete blocks make useful bookshelves. Wait, that is also a great start for a row of nest boxes, just need the milk crates...... belay that thought.

Today, my DH rescued an injured rooster, fed and watered it and put it in a cage so he can heal.

My DH does not like roosters and always chases them out of here when they come visiting.
So, I now have a rooster!

I really love reading about male converts. Ken was the one that started this entire chicken thing. I got into it more than him, and he has become my biggest enabler. Like yesterdays phone call: "Honey? I was at the feed store and they had two silkies and I know you love them so I bought them". Or statements like: "Babe. Shouldn't we be saving these eggs for hatching?"

I knew it. Broodiness IS contagious.

KEITH'S GONE BROODY!!!

Yes, but this begs the question. Is Keith going to be willing to play mama hen in 21 days?
