WOOHOO!! Sounds good so far. Surely the City Manager will take into consideration that the code enforcement officer and animal control officer gave you the thumbs up and can't have any further reason to deny you your babies.
I will keep my fingers crossed for ya, but sounds like you won!

well, im still at square 1?? city manager didnt return my calls yesterday, so i called him first thing this morning, he went "out of town"........ok, an hour later animal control knocks at my door what they are all telling me is, I cant have the chickens......BUT, we dont care that you have them.........now that is , city manager, code enforcement and animal control, all 3 agencies have basically said the same thing..........oh well, i guess in the long run , i sort of won..........i guess

geez....nothing like getting the run-around.
Time to just sit back and enjoy the babies....and hope you never hear from any of them again. Without a rooster and no complaints from neighbors, you should be ok.

onecent, I hope you will be able to keep your chickens. My dad was from Halifax and we used to visit my grandparents often. They lived right across from the library. From what I remember it is a small peaceful town.

Hi hope all works out for you. I live in suburban NY and we can keep chickens. you can even have chickens in NYC. A lot of big citys let you keep chicken. You might bring this to the attenion of the city manager. Maybe show them a list of places that allow chicken. It's really ironic that my grandmother was raised in Detriot then moved to Halifax! Do they still have those wonderful Independance Day play's?
Seems like since it's pretty rural you would be allowed to keep chickens. The last time i was there was about 15 years ago when my Dad passed and it was still pretty rural. Has it changed much since then I wonder?

hi, yes they still have the play First for Freedom, i went to see it about 20 yrs ago (lol) i thought i would be bored, but i actually enjoyed it! i dont live in halifax now, im like 10 miles from it, but most of Halifax county is very rural, may i ask what your dads name was? maybe i might know him..... Mr.Vernon Bradley who lived in halifax all his life just passed away Sunday, you might know him.
