. I know how aweful it is , i raised a problem chick just to have it die at five month old.

I am so sorry the first chick died. Give the others time to hatch. This is an important time to keep the lid closed. When you open the lid the humidity gets sucked out and the membrane can shrink around the chicks still in the egg. They will suffocate. So just wait for them to hatch and leave them in the incubator to dry off. They can be in there without food and water for up to 3 days. Until the others hatch. You will be fine. This is a great experience for you little one!! Mine sure enjoyed it!!!

Thanks for all of the kind words. I am not going to TOUCH that darn incubator. I see three of the other eggs bouncing around and hear a cheeping inside of the egg.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed for better luck.

Hatching can be a very stressfull time.

Get yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee and relax.

It will happen, some chicks can take up to day 24 to hatch. So give them time.

We cucrently hatched over the last few weeks.

Fertility testing my Double Laced Barnevelders. Can't wait for my Buff Orpingtons, Chamois Frizzle Polish, LF and Bantam Cream Crested Legbars and Cuckoo Maran breeding pens to start laying now so I can get some of those incubating. lol

Poor hubby, he's been building huge brooders and today made me a fantastic new coop which he's going to be making me a fair few of so we can have them all the same.

YAY for the little chicks who are doing well. Your guys look really pleased. I'm sorry about the one who died. I'm not looking forward to that part of incubating...

Congratulations on the new babies!
