Bryan,
I'm horrified to read what happened. I banged this off quickly for you- maybe it will help. Glad the little guy is o.k.!

Dear :
I am writing to you to express my anger over an even that took place on [date].
I patronized your store on [date] to purchase feed oats for my poultry flock, as you can see by the date/time stamp on the COPY of the receipt, it was getting rather late. I specifically asked the clerk for feed oats. Upon arriving home around [time], I opened the bag that had been loaded into my vehicle by one of your staff, and fed a scoop to my flock. The next morning I again went out to feed my flock and discovered Id been sold the wrong product; a product containing posions!
You have no idea how much time I had to spend on the telephone and computer trying to find a vet that would see my flock (there werent any that didnt demand immediate payment) and an antidote to the poison, specifically raxil thoram that the seed oats contained.
Once the emergency had been taken care of, I contacted your store and was told it was my responsibility. I whole heartedly beg to differ! Watching my animals suffer at your negligence is shameful to say the least!
I am asking that 1. The staff be more thoroughly trained on the products your store carries. 2. I demand the cost of the bogus product be returned to me immediately. 3. I want the cost of the ingredients needed to save the flock, and the special feed required to help them recover be reimbursed as well.
Should these simple requests not be met, I have no choice but to seek further legal action to recover my losses.
Sincerely,
edited to make sense
I hadn't hit refresh and didn't see the outcome until after I hit submit. Oh well, alls well that ends well. Maybe someone else could use the letter!
