Omg help!!!!!!!!!

OK, I can accept the free feed for the rest of the year being a good enough conclusion to this situation!

I'm so sorry this happened to you but fortunately none of your chicks died, but I bet you were worried sick!

You might have to feed your chickens some extra bags of feed before the end of the year.

Always nice to start the new year stocked up.

WOW!! Then I'd reverse my advice to the opposite. Thank him by letting other people know that they'll fix their mistakes.

That's a pretty incredible compensation. Must be a good place - minus that one loader.

Glad to hear that someone stepped up to the plate and took ownership.

I'm so glad your chickies are doing ok. How scary! And I'm glad the owner stepped up. I learned pretty quickly not to trust what the feed store employees tell you. One of the employees told me to use a product for mites on my chickens. I started reading the label and it said right there on the label that it was dangerous to birds!

Bryan,

I'm horrified to read what happened. I banged this off quickly for you- maybe it will help. Glad the little guy is o.k.!

Dear :
I am writing to you to express my anger over an even that took place on [date].
I patronized your store on [date] to purchase feed oats for my poultry flock, as you can see by the date/time stamp on the COPY of the receipt, it was getting rather late. I specifically asked the clerk for feed oats. Upon arriving home around [time], I opened the bag that had been loaded into my vehicle by one of your staff, and fed a scoop to my flock. The next morning I again went out to feed my flock and discovered I’d been sold the wrong product; a product containing posions!
You have no idea how much time I had to spend on the telephone and computer trying to find a vet that would see my flock (there weren’t any that didn’t demand immediate payment) and an antidote to the poison, specifically raxil thoram that the seed oats contained.
Once the emergency had been taken care of, I contacted your store and was told it was my responsibility. I whole heartedly beg to differ! Watching my animals suffer at your negligence is shameful to say the least!
I am asking that 1. The staff be more thoroughly trained on the products your store carries. 2. I demand the cost of the bogus product be returned to me immediately. 3. I want the cost of the ingredients needed to save the flock, and the special feed required to help them recover be reimbursed as well.
Should these simple requests not be met, I have no choice but to seek further legal action to recover my losses.

Sincerely,

edited to make sense

I hadn't hit refresh and didn't see the outcome until after I hit submit. Oh well, alls well that ends well. Maybe someone else could use the letter!

I left a watermelon rind for my hens and it was cleaned down to a transparent rind when I got home. They were still caged waiting for the coop to be finished. It cleaned them out - what a runny mess to cleanup! Maybe you could try some melon to help them expel the poison.

I always say the the measure of a person's (store's) integrity is not how they act when things are going well, but how the act when the feces hit the fan.

The free food is a good answer to the OWNERS integrity, but the manager's.....

I would make a huge effort to make sure the manager is the one helping you EVERY time you go for your free food!! Remind him of the food looses you had from not being able to eat any eggs for approx two weeks. You did stop eating them, right?

He's one tough little guy and I hope he lives a long, happy and from here on out, healthy life with you for years to come! He's probably going to be your very special little guy after all of this attention!

The owners reaction to the situation and his method of restitution is commendable! Free food for the rest of the year! That's great! Isn't it wonderful when people step up and take responsibility when things go wrong! It kind of renews your faith in people!

Again, I'm just so happy for you and little Peanut! His recovery is all that is truly important here!
