OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGG, I can honestly tolerate about anything . . .but seeing a snot hocker than someone has left laying around on the sidewalks, wherever will almost make me throw up every time. I simply cannot stand it. It has to be my #1 pet peeve. People who sniff . . . . for crying out loud, get a hanky or a kleenex or excuse yourself and go blow your nose!!!! There is NO excuse for that.

I know blowing one's nose is necessary and indeed, a healthy thing but OP, you were right to be offended IMO. As a guest on your property, he should have had the courtesy (not to mention decency) to use a hankie or excuse himself to his vehicle......

Grew up watching my Grandpa blowing his nose that way, so it doesn't gross me out the way it might some people.

Once, when I didn't have a kleenex and was wearing a flimsy top with no extra cloth, I blew my nose the same way. Went around the corner first so no one could see me. Kinda weirdly satisfying, like piddling in the dirt while camping.

Whether blowing your nose or hocking a lugy: Please do it out of where people walk!
