i also have SGs from angie. i can't wait to see what colors they become! two were all yellow, two are yellow and black, i guess they might be splash, it almost looks like theyre dirty, and one is brown and black. two have beards, two have little cheek muffs and no neck feathers, and one looks like a silkie, all fuzzy. but so cute!

oh thanks I am really excited too, I plan to focus on muffed but beardless SG this upcoming year with the hopes of making some in lavender by 2011

kagedgoddess - Angie keeps her colors together the dirty colored ones you speak of may be either gray or Columbian!!!! yes you heard me, she throws a lot of columbian colored chicks and may be the only one that does. It is awesome looking white with black in the tail and wing tips
and the grays are outstanding, just ask Buff-the-rooster she and her hubby were here the other day and saw my Gray silkie roo (from Angie) and fell in love.

Angie if you are reading this I just love your birds and hope you always keep that pen the same as there is some seriously cool stuff happening with your SG genes.

It is bad to touch a Silkie or Relative of a Silkie at any age, but obviuosly it already has you under its spell, so you are doomed to be its slave until the spell can be broken.

I am! and let me tell you those 2 turkeys are now my boss, barking orders of treats, and supervising all activities. I believe they will be sending out a review report to their superiors soon, hope I pass

SGs with muffs aren't uncommon out of lines of bearded birds. The birds are genetically bearded, but it just isn't visible besause of the presence of the nn gene. If you breed muffed het nns together, you should get 25% silkies, and they will be bearded, not muffed with no beards. Cute chicks.

Yes, it's pretty common in sgs from bearded stock. I have 2 with muffs, 1 with a beard, and a couple nb. I hope you hatch out more too, they're adorable!

Thank you so much Ahappychick, I had add a blue roo to this group and the chicks hatched have a soft gentle blue/gray color that's really pretty to me.

I'm hoping that my buff cross the blue can give me a new isabel color, that will be really pretty like my silkie.
