Yes, we are adding to the flock! Just orders 7 different breeds from Myers Hatchery and due for delivery between September 7-9!!! Soo excited. This is our first time to raise chickens from chicks! Any input on how to make sure we keep them safe and healthy is welcome! Thank you all!

I feel your excitement! Raising baby chicks is one of the most fun aspects of chicken keeping. They are an endless source of entertainment, and watching them develop is so rewarding.

I recommend brooding them under the heating pad system right alongside your adult flock for the optimal ease of integrating them into the flock. I wrote a detailed article for BYC on this topic and it's linked below this post.
