OMG!!! This is the best thing I've ever read. Glad I just went to the bathroom because I'd be peeing myself.

My sister and I have the exact same sence of humor. I'm send this to her right away.

There is a version of that cleanser that is a powder you can mix into your drink of choice. My DH says it's called Miralax. He usually mixes it with Lemon-lime Gatorade.

If you have to have a colonoscopy, ask for that stuff instead of the liquid with the useless flavor packets.

My DH had symptoms which prompted a colonoscopy. He says he will never do it again because he was AWAKE for it, looking at a monitor and screaming in pain. They apparently did not give him enough anesthesia. Doesnt make me run to make an appointment to have one, no matter what my doctor says.

Very funny!!!

Adding some to my experience:

I took my husband in to have his colonoscopy done.

All I can say is it was very hard to stop laughing when they took me back to him in the recovery room.

The nurses just kept saying "it's clean air their passing" as everyone one passing gas like it was going out of style!
The patients were unaware, since they were just coming out of anethesia.

Also the doctors were making some money that day and probably every day. My calculations were 60 patients a day, based on how many went in while I was waiting for my husband. We had a bill from the doctor who performed the surgery, the tech who read the biopsies (which were fine), and the facility where the procedure was performed. Over $3000.00.

I went into the wrong profession...but I would probably still be laughing at all the clean air being passed...so not a good profession for me!

Birch Run Farm- AMEN!!!!

I have Crohns and the GI doctor likes to poke around down there. I'm usually quite willing to agree to anything if I'm in the middle of a flare. I just want it to stop hurting and let's face it, once I'm flaring I can't feel any worse. This last time though I was fine. He kept spouting off something about wanting a "base line" level with which to compare things. Sadist.

The problem was that the last time I woke up in the middle of the procedure and could totally feel and remember what was going on. He assured me that it was a fluke and wouldn't happen again. Liar, liar pants on fire. I was so dehydrated by the prep that they could find a vein for the IV drip. They finally shoved it in my wrist, hitting a vein along the way. OWWWW!!! The mean hateful nurse yelled at me for jumping when SHE hit the never. At that point I should have known it wasn't going to go well and just left. Really long story short, the drugs didn't go in properly. I felt the whole thing and remembered the entire procedure. I yelled and fussed through the entire thing and the mean, hateful nurse basically told me I was acting like a baby and to shut up. Yup. It's my fault that the drugs weren't working and it hurt like h***! Witch.
When all was said and done I told the doctor that I would never let him or his staff do another colonoscopy on me again and that his nurse behaved badly. I have spent a gazillion dollars with this guy for about a decade now and I am one of his better patients. Based on my previous behavior with him and his staff he should have realized that there was a problem and STOPPED THE PROCEDURE. I pointed out that the only reason I was not finding another doctor is that his personal office nurse (not the hateful witch nurse) takes really good care of me and I didn't want to lose that relationship (and she does. She makes sure all goes well and she now knows me well enough to realize when I really have a problem. I love her to pieces!). Arggg. I'm getting mad all over again just typing it. He ended up sending me a letter that was vaguely apologetic and said that when we did it again (HA!) we would do it at the hospital and they would knock me all the way out. Again I say, HA! He made the hateful nurse call me and apologize, which was nice, but clearly coerced.

Okay... I'm done ranting now.

Been there--done that! I can't believe he said He got to sleep..

What he forgot to tell you is that even if you weigh 125lbs you take the same amount as someone who weighs 300lbs!!

Does that make sense to anyone???

Having had the "butt" camera (I have Diviculitis) this has made me laugh so much, had tears rolling down my face....BUT here in the UK you are awake while they do it! .....ahh yes I remember the Movilax very well. But in defence of the Movilax I felt great for days afterwards because of the "cleansing" I think this is why colonic irrigation is still so popular here...........
