I would have them bring out 1 pup at a time to look at. Just sit quietly at first and wait on the pup to make the 1st move and how he reacts to you both. Then do the same with pup #2. Then see them both together, and go from there. And if you decide that #1 or #2 are not the right fit, you keep looking till the right one comes along.

HE IS HERE!!!!!!!! OMG What have I done??????????????
Big fur ball and he is soooo cute but scared and his little heart is going soooo fast.
His Mom won best of Ireland and his dad got best in breed today! that can't be bad. They brought three pups with them Baily and one that had already been homed to someone coming from the mainland for him and the runt that is going to the family who had the mom.

So no more pups. - He is fully Ikc registered as we got him through the Kennel club so no issues with breeders etc. It turned out fine in the end.

Will be on later to tell all have no pics yet only home! Long drive long day.

Oh he is lovely - He had a good night but peed a few times so have to scrub this morning but he went out in the yard and peed outside this morning and got lots of praise for that. He doesn't want to eat though but he is scared so it might take a wee while. He will eat when he is hungry.

I can't believe he is really here and now I don't know what to do with him!!!

Actually I am crying because I am missing Murphy and nice as this pup is it's not the Murph and never will be - I don;t knwo how long it will take me to get over that. Gizmo is struggling too - I mean he had us to himself a good while and now he has this little man taking his toys and taking his bed - so its hard for him too. Not like the Murph at all. It will take a lot of getting used to.

Oh, he is beautiful.

Of course he could never replace Murphy. Each of my pets hold a special place in my heart, and they can never fill that void. I guess it is a bit like a puzzle, where each "piece" is so unique, a new one would never fill the missing spot. It hurts, but enjoy your new pup! I am sure he will be an amazing addition to your family!

Your love for him will surely grow in time.

What a cutie pie! I've never had a pet replace an old pet. What they do do for me is enrich the here and now so that the good memories of past pets can replace the pain of missing them in the day to day. It allows for a tapestry of memories to be woven.

Oh, yes, that conflicted feeling of "you are what I wanted but you aren't what I wanted either." You knew he wasn't going to be Murphy all over again, even though you at least a little bit hoped he would be. Give it time, you'll learn to love this fuzzy, adorable little guy for his own unique self. Nothing will ever replace what you have lost; each pet makes their own special place in our hearts. Sometimes, though, having another pet to love and return your love can make the void ache a bit less.

Congrats on your new baby! I declare, I just want to hug him!

Thanks guys I have been so low and depressed today.
I have cried so much over Murphy. It is still incredebly raw.

Oes - the pup will be fine but hes not Murph and maybe something inside of me hoped he would be like him. But hes just toooo small!

Thats why I always wait a long while before getting a new dog, I don't want to try to (subconsciously) substitute a pup for my lost dog.... But I guess your new baby is here and you will see that he is a new friend, and one I am sure you will love getting to know. Isn't it fun to learn things about a new person or pet? I think so...
