OMG - Is Connie a rooster?

Thanks for the positive note. I've been thinking of roosters as a pain in the A--, an aggravation to the girls. I'll have to change my attitude. She's... Um, that is...He's awfully pretty, after all.

Thanks to everyone who've said how nice looking Connie is.

She's a very handsome rooster. Yes, she's a rooster.

IDK, a Rooster named Connie sounds kind of cool. We used to have a rooster named Lola, but he turned out to be really mean to the hens. Broody hens are also underrated, <3 chicks! If they're going to be sitting there they might as well get some work done.

I feel your pain. I have a hatchery EE that's supposed to be a pullet but I'm getting suspicious she/he might be a roo. I hope I'm wrong. I had to sell 6 roos just yesterday - and that's no fun.

"she" is a pretty rooster!!!...........i feel for you.....my favorite chicken janey turned out to be a rooster as well!

Birth control for chickens?

Eat the eggs, of course! And as for those broody hens, let them sit on golf balls, they won't know the difference.

Chicken birth control.........

If you don't incubate or let a hen sit on eggs, you won't have any chicks - and that's the only birth control possible with a roo who has access to hens

you can eat fertile eggs, they are no different to infertile ones.

in fact you've probably been eating some for a little while now ;-)

x2 just collect your eggs regularly.
