OMG - Mutt mistake... LOL (added picture)

I've had a broody bantam for a while now, I left one of her own eggs for her to hatch - she's a Mille Fleur D'Uccle and so is our only rooster.

Well everyone else has laid in her nest as well, and I stop by regularly to pull out all the BIG girl eggs.

Missed one! I went to check her this evening and she has an Ideal 236 egg PIPPING and ZIPPING.

I wonder what the little chick is going to look like!

Mom TOOK off out the coop like something bit her on the butt

(yeah she's been sitting on a hay bale)

Its 103 in the coop right now so baby will be just fine - mom will be surprised when she gets back!

Its gonna be CUTE!!!

I wish Mom would go BACK to the nest - she's still flapping around outside.

I know the baby will be FINE but I will still worry till she goes back!

I'll try get a pic tomorrow morning. I just went to check and mom is back - not sitting on the egg but next to it, its still VERY hot in there.... at least she won't be surprised coming back to a nest with a baby in it!
