baby is STILL in the shell

Mom sitting on it now, the egg is pretty cracked up - I guess I'll have to wait till morning to see what color the baby is, so far it looks like a dirty cream colored - but of course its wet and still half in the shell.

I really love to see mutt babies!! My hen hatched out 7 with a Dominique Roo x Dominique, Buff Orp, and Golden Comet Sex Link hens. They were sooooo cute!!! The one in my avatar I am pretty sure is a Dom x Buff cross.

Mutts are the best! One of my hens is sitting on her (and the rest of my girls') mutt eggs right now. Pics please, I love seeing what these crosses look like,

I peeked under the grumpy mom this morning and it looks like the chick is yellow all round. I'm going to have to move mom and baby at some point - they're on top of two hay bales stacked one on the other - way to high up for a baby. Mom is NOT going to be happy - I'm also worried about all those big girls who want to continue to lay in that nest.

I love the way mutts turn out. I have some of the neatest looking chickens from mixed parents. Congrats

I have a huge brooder box, my hubby is going to move it into the coop after work, and then I'll move mom and her baby into that.... I'll get a picture then, baby is pretty darn loud - I can hear the peeping going on its SO cute... and then I see a little head pop out every now and then.

I'll take the camera next time I go visit the cooop and if baby is sticking out I'll take a picture.
