OMG my first egg!

First egg with my Easter Egger! 17 weeks yesterday. Little small but delicious. Will they get bigger with time?

I had my first egg today too! I couldn't believe my eyes. I put a golf ball in the nest box yesterday to try and encourage one of the 3 pullets I have to lay, and this afternoon there was a little egg next to the golf ball. The girls are 22 weeks old. When should I expect my next egg do you think? Will she lay every day now?

Golf balls don't encourage them to lay, nature has to take its course with that one. It helps them lay where you want them to lay. Congrats on the egg! She won't lay every single day, it's likely she will take the day off here and there. Whether or not she will lay tomorrow is anybody's guess. I hope she does!

Ah I see, just lucky then. This is my first time having chickens so learning alot

Did she lay another one? Mine that laid her first egg on saturday just laid her 3rd one this morning - 3 days in a row! Good girl!
