I have a 5 y/o Shih - Zue named Gypsy, I had gotten some chicks from TSC and had to put them by the fire that night to keep them warm, so I slept on the couch in the next room so I could wake up and go check on them. I wake up and I don't hear any cheeping, I'm like that's weird so I go in there to check on them and there isn't one chick in the basket!

I wake everybody up and we all start searching the house I run in my room and look the lights were off and my dog was just on my bed. So I left, we finally found one under a chair in the living room - it was dead. Then my mom asks me if I looked in my room, I said yes! But I'll go look again and sure enough I turn on the light and my dog is alseep on the bad with all the baby chicks around here! She had licked them all to death! I was so sad!

Be careful even if you think your dog means well! My dog trys to adopt baby goats cows etc .. but she has killed quiet a few of my chickens. She licked those 6 baby chicks to death and she has also killed my young SSH pullet ......

Be very, very careful!
