OMG! society finches hatched out quail eggs

Yeah!

The finches have adapted their behavior remarkably from the norm and continue to brood the chicks on the floor as well as tidbit them solid pieces of food.

They have their own cage now with a lamp as they outgrew foster mom. The finches are setting 4 new quail eggs. Babies now have wings and are as big as the finches.

I have 7 finches in the main cage that cooperate sitting. Each can cover two by itself, but usually at least 2 sit together and can cover 4. Tbh there's always an egg visible poking out the side and I thought they wouldn't hatch them but we got 3/4 doing this last time (and with a pair with a lethal factor, golden pearl, so that may be the best possible fertility we can get) so they know what they are doing.

We have Popcorn the cinnamon, also the friendliest. I can still hold her. Cricket is a golden pearl and is a bit shy. Bean is behind both others in the photos. He is the smallest, and he is a wild type. And he is now very wild in behavior and runs from any disurbance. Picking up results in screeches of protest. He is missing part of his left wing. It just didn't develop.
