come on, it's not like it's a GMO, they just kept breeding for nuder and nuder birds until they got it consistent. this is how they produced such efficient broilers, huge thanksgiving day turkeys, and how we select for our characteristics to, it's not natural selection, but the genes are doing it themselves.
i wouldn't be worried or be mean about who is trying to create a cure of world hunger. people in Africa are protein starved, they don't have the luxury of having decent weather for growing feathered birds either. i don't have certain pets because i don't find them attractive and you don't have to have this one either. but i don't think it should be discounted as an option for future food use.
as for the skin, white skin would burn so badly it is better it has some pigment to protect it, they also have to have thicker skin and higher temps potentially to ward of diseases that would be kept from the body by the feathers. i think it is an accomplishment and a noble one if the intent is to help starving nations.
do you really thing oysters are cute? that doesn't stop so many from eating them.
i apologize for the mini rant and do not mean to insult anyone i respect all of your opinions. this is my opinion hoping to show a different perception of this rooster's existence.
