OMG what do I do, they are three days EARLY!?!

If they scatter like cockroaches when you get near the brooder, then it sounds like you have normal healthy keets, lol.
Congrats, post some pics!
Totally normal keets then. And yes, I do know NO ONE will believe me without pictures lol.

More pipping as I type!

How well do the young ones go into a two to four day old batch? Chicks and baby quail tend to bash the youngest ones around so am a bit worried about putting the latest hatchings into the brooder.

AND - if they're trying to jump out of the brooder when you clean it, you can only think of popping popcorn on the stove without a lid, the keets are normal. Too bad they don't love us....if they only knew.....

I'm new to all this, too. You'll get the hang of it in no time.
Pictures aren't for proof - we're mostly just a bunch of gooey, baby-picture loving keet addicts LOL. We just love the keets!

. Just wait until I figure out how to post my video of a keet hatching on YouTube!!! The video only a hatcher could love. (zzzzzz).

They should be ok being added to the older bunch, as long as they are fully fluffed and dried. You'll want to keep an eye on them for a while and make sure the youngest are getting water and pecking at the feed tho... sometimes the lil ones get lost in the shuffle/pushed out of the way. It usually does not take them too long to keep up with the pack after they've had a drink, some feed and a nap. If you are really worried about them you can make a divider in the brooder out of hardware cloth for a day or 2 until the littlest keets are just as active as the others.

Well, the two pipped eggs failed to hatch. Such a shame but at least there are 11 lovely keets to look at. How long does one leave guinea eggs till throwing them away? I would HATE to throw away a good egg!

Since my eggs usually always hatch day 26/27 I candle any left overs on day 28 and look for movement in the ones that pipped and went no further and internal pip or any sign of movement on the eggs that haven't even pipped... if you see any clear spots in the growth area, and no movement it's most likely those eggs are late quitters. 30 days is usually my cut off day if I can't tell if they are alive or not, but some wait till day 32. Unfortunately the late hatching keets usually have some kind of leg/foot or congenital issue/defect...

Think I will pull the plug tomorrow. I cant candle as my daughter used my light to read by and has killed the batery but if they havnt come out by tomorrow, I dont think anymore will.

But 11 keets out of 24 free eggs that could have been any age at all is pretty good!

I am really pleased with the 11! Picks soon. But no picture can show how funny they are lol.
