Thanks for the reminder about ventilation. At one corner, I can see into the inside from outside, so it will definitely get wet in there when it's windy. We put the raincoat back on tonight to prepare for tomorrow's rain. I cut some slots that line up with the vents in the Eglu, so should give some nice cross-ventilation. I reinforced them with duct tape to keep them from ripping. I'll have to take some photos next time I'm home when it's still light. No more free-ranging for my girls and boy during the week - I don't make it home before dark now. :-(
I put some of that plastic fencing on the ladder, and they like that. They're now mostly using it like old pros. One nice side effect of them sleeping on a floor rather than a roost is that it cuts down on the bedtime drama. There's a lot less pecking and jockeying for position.
