Rabbits are fast, yorkies are sloooooooowwwww.....

Rabbits grow up running from coyotes, cats and yappy Yorkies don't.
If they can be heard they are not hunting, when all is quiet is when you worry. Just a part of living in the country.

I couldn't get past the open door thing........ Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It was only 45 degrees here last night, If it had really been cold like it was on Saturday (25 degrees) I couldn't have had the door open. Its supposed to be in the mid 50's overnight for the rest of the week.
I'm on "vacation" for the whole week, so I don't have a specific time to be in bed by, but my DW is having minor surgery Wed. a.m., so if I'm going to do anything with these coyotes it will need to be before Tues. night.

Pets are easy- they've lost a lot of their self-preservation instincts and we've made them used to being around other species (cats and dogs, dogs and rabbits, etc.). My Dad's Rat Terrier Minnie Pearl (The Princess) would actually go after a coyote because she thinks anything in her territory is fair game (good thing she has invisible fencing and a 65 lb GSD to keep them out of the yard because we regularly see them 40 yards behind the house in broad daylight). So far I haven't had to shoot any at my house; I keep my pets close and I think my outside dogs make too much noise for them to come after my pet goat. Though I believe in live and let live (as you can tell by most of my posts) I will shoot one if it's menacing my pets or livestock. Just passing through is fine but even I have to draw the line somewhere.

I agree!!!
I put a critter cam out where the fox, coyote or dog got my chicken. Caught a possum who is history along with a 1/2 doz skunks. I have already dug the holes. The largest is 4'x4'x4'.
I checked in with my local Game and Wildlife. They told me that the critters I'm hunting aren't off limits in my area, but may be in others.

I've checked the local laws and its legal for me to shoot them, but there is a 2500 acre state park about 1/2 mile from here where they can't be killed, this means that I can hunt them up the powerlines until you come to Mt Vernon road, about 500 or so yards away from my house. If they cross the road they are off limits.

Here is a link about the park: http://www.gastateparks.org/info/sweetwater/

I'm in the pocket between Lee rd. & Mt Vernon rd. (see map through link above)

Too bad they don't just stay on the other side of the road!

Man oH man I swear I got real tired of waitig for them I spend endless time before and I never saw them I alawys hear them parking but never found them yet.
