Me as well guess I probably went to big for first hatch but too lat know I lock down Friday

oh they're quail eggs, so they will hatch in about a week, or could hatch as early as 4. That makes lock down as early as tomorrow, so you can probably just leave them at this point. Those spotted coturnix eggs are pretty hard to candle.

I have some good LED light torches, but the shells are a bit too think and dark. I just went with weight eventually, ie the weight of the eggs at day 1, then at day 10.. just by hand, but I think I will get one of those wee weighing scales.

Not a strong odor but still a little odor after removing the 4 duds but is a little odor normal

maybe you can try sniffing each egg to see if the odor is stronger on a particular egg

I think so.. I mean you are creating a bacterial paradise. The difference, if one explodes, is very evident by the projectile vomiting it induces within you
