jemjoop Thanks for the info. Checked it out. I'm not crazy about the fact that many sellers don't put pictures up. They want you to e-mail them for the pics. Did you see what you were bidding on?

Hi 4-H, no that's the thing. I'm new to this trying to start a flock and saw a bunch of other hens that were too far away to pick up. So then this one came along and it was within driving distance and I jumped the gun.

I just made a mistake. Human error. Either a buff cochin lover will come along and save me or I'll just have to work it out with the seller.

Thank goodness for being outbid, sometimes. You might have gotten a really nice pair. I saw some birds that might have been nice to get. It is a shame that everyone that is selling those birds don't think how important it is to see what you are bidding on. I know I wouldn't want to be e-mailing everyone just to get a picture that they should have posted anyway. Well, good luck in finding birds.

Oh we got our first flock yesterday. Someone local to me posted on the old board that he was reducing his flock so I chose two buff orpingtons and 2 black sex links.

The kids were so excited after school. I've been waiting 4 years to be in a position to have them and they're finally here. Hubby is a slow worker so when we were house hunting I chose one that already had a coop lol

I didn't realize how funny they are. The talking when they discovered the food and the way they all check out things in our hands to see if they can eat it.

The "meek" one is the one who tried to make her escape yesterday out the door and she hid under an overturned wheelbarrow. When my older son picked her up she said "ow! ow! ow!"

And then promptly at dusk they all jumped up to roost. Such low maintenance pets.

Good luck finding some for yourself, lots of them listed on eggbid are so gorgeous. Yes pictures always help so when you don't see them you have to wonder if the seller just has trouble figuring out how to get them online.
