"Some municipalities have bucked the agrarian trend. Just north of Denver, the planning board for the city of Longmont, Colo., recently gave the thumbs-down to a chicken ordinance. According to Jon Van Bentham, the board chairman, concerns ranged from unsightly chicken-coop construction to noise and smell, to slightly more dire topics."

SOSDD. Most chicken tenders, pardon the pun, are pretty careful of their chickens and how they affect others in their area. But every now and then, some yahoo decides to wing it, and makes a mess for everyone else to deal with.

Hopefully, the board and council members of cities everywhere can be re-educated concerning chickens in the backyard. One reason we're all on BYC!
