Once again...what color is this silkie?

I love his coloring!!! By the way, I got in touch with the seller on eggbid you got your mottled cochin's from and I have eggs coming next week from her. I am so excited!!! I hope they turn out as cute as yours!

Yes, he is purebred silkie...no mix whatsoever. I've just been unsure what color he is considered. I guess I will classify him as silver.

I tried for awhile, but this guy is far better than any of my columbian silkies were.

George keeps telling me I need to bring that project off the backburner and really work on them--I don't have any left, however.

Just one really super typey cockerel who has everything going for him except colour: he is a mess of greys & reds, possible barring and possible splash thrown in.

I'd like to see a good grey silky... no idea what they are.

This silky looks like a silver columbian with melanizers, silver quail as you like.

True greys look mostly like blacks, but with a grey hackle. I have some roos here, I'll try to get a pic of one and post it.
I also, had several of the silver hens , looked just like the ones piced here and breed true from parents that looked just like the ones piced here, but I lost all of them in Tropical Storm Fay last summer (24-30 inches of rain in a day)
I have a guy out west that I got them from, and he still hase them, so I plan to get more. He calls them greys, but, they are being more refered to now as silvers, to prevent any confusion in the 2 colors. They are a relatively new color, from what I have seen they do breed true, and yes, everyone knows how any new color is created, some where generations ago, it got crosses, but with correct breeding the cross is quickly removed and it's silkie again.

Do they have a duckwing? white wing triangle.
If no the hens should be blackbreasted (Birchen).
If yes they are silver duckwing/partridge.

Grey is basically partridge with the silver gene, with gray and silver replacing the golds and browns.
