If you still have ducks, they will also have to be protected. Mink will kill them too. As will GHO or many of the other predators which tend to eat the head first.

Sent my remaining girls away to live with a chicken friend. Caught the mink last weekend! See thread "very sad day UPDATE - Thanks all!" for our experience and some trapping ideas for a live trap. My 2 remaining young roos are going into a heavy dog crate at night for now. Come Spring, we will re-do our whole set-up to make it more predator proof. I'm so very sorry... I know just how you feel.

For the heck of it i put an egg out in the coup and sure enough this mornign its cracked and ate...shell left behind. The rooster is fine he slept in cat carrier in shed. I got a live trap and thinkin bout putting an egg in it and a chunk of fresh fish. or a piece of chicken since it loves chicken. have me a mink sock in a minute.
