I was wrong when I posted that yesterday was day 24, today is actually 24. Early this morning one of the 10 eggs that are left started getting a little hole poked in it and the hole just got bigger and bigger before I left for work. I could hear lots of peeping too! Very excited that at least one is going to hatch. How long do I give the other 9 before I say they didn't make it? I don't want to be too impatient, want to give them a fighting chance, but also want to be realistic.

If you just now have one hatching, the others might still be just as alive as that one is!!! Maybe someone else can give you a "timeline"
but CONGRATS on your baby!

Congrats!!! Same here. I had 1 of my 10 pip. I noticed about 2:30ish am. I expected to have to wait a long time, but my 9 yo dd woke me at 10 am and said the chick was out!!! Yay!!

Nothing else going on yet in the others though.

Well I will give them through Sunday for sure then, just to be safe. I don't want that one little chick to be all alone! I was thinking I would sale some and keep some, but if I only get two or three I will just keep them all. I should have at least one Buff Orp and the others should be a Black Astrolorp/Black Silkie mix, which I think will just be adorable. I can't wait to get home and see them!!!

I'm glad this question was asked. Thursday was Day 21 and one of the two eggs under the broody hatched in the afternoon. I only let her have two eggs, because I don't want too many chickens for my space. The hen came off the nest this morning for a poop and to show the chick where the feed and water was. She does return to the nest and the remaining egg.
It's now been 24 hours since the first one hatched. So, should I assume that the hen will continue setting on the egg until it hatches (or not) and then give up at some point? I've only peeked at the remaining egg because she's very protective and I don't want to be pecked.
This remaining egg was from an older (almost 3) hen. Don't know if that would have anything to do with whether or not it hatches.
If it doesn't hatch by Sunday (assuming she stays with it) should I just remove it? That would be Day 24.

I think you should be patient and wait till Sunday. Just in case.

I gave my first time broody a few extra days. But in my case, none of the 6 eggs hatched. I broke those open and it looked like none were fertilzed.

Good luck to you! Congrats on your little chickie.
