One chick died, another looks like it’s going down hill

I added three Speckled Sessex chicks to my other 12 chicks on Friday. All my chicks are under two weeks old. One never really looked very good and passed away last night. Now another one is doing the same thing, not eating or drinking, very wobbly, and now just laying there. I tried Electrolyte solution in the water, tried to get her to drink from my finger, offered soaked starter, she’s just not interested. I am mostly concerned that the chicks are sick, and will spread something to my other chicks. All the poop looks normal, although neither new chick really pooped. By the way, the third chick has always looked great and continues to thrive. Any thoughts? Did I just get two FTT duds?

Sorry that you’ve had this experience, it’s possible that those Sussex had problem to begin with, wether temperature fluctuations at the very beginning or been contaminated with some sickness. Most of the time the source of poultry matters. In my few years of raising chicks, which I preferred, than buying or adding older ones, I’ve been lucky not to lose a single chick in my watch except one DOA arrival from a mail in order. Hopefully the rest of your chicks will do okay.
