i have a brown leghorn chick that has pipped and he hasnt chirped in awhile so i picked the egg up to see if he was alive still and it chirped when i did so i carefully set it back down in there and he still hasnt done anything buts its only been a couple of hrs so do i give him more time or what

First thing.....you shouldn't be opening the bator to check on him....by doing that you've lowered the humidity and lessened the chances it will be able to hatch. It can take more than 24 hours from the time they pip to when they hatch...sometimes even longer.

well i didnt have it open very long just to check it maybe took 10 seconds and i put water in it to in that amount of time

You should leave it closed until they all hatch. I know it's hard, but your patience will pay off.
