We had 3 chicks from our incubator. When they moved outside a weasel or some other small predator killed two of them. Now, she is all alone in our brooder coop. We have 9 hens, 1 rooster, and 14 young pullets/cockerels that would just peck her if they could. She can see the other chickens while they are free ranging during the day. It has been suggested to put a feather duster in with her to comfort her. I was considering bringing her back inside to live in the brooder for a couple more weeks but, she was one that never cared for being loved on. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Would not get a duck, Most feed stores aren't selling chicks around this time so for now you can put some stuffed animals and a mirror in for the chick, You could also post an ad on craigslist explaining your situation and see if anyone has some young chicks like yours they could sell you?

Mirror sounds good. I'll try that. I might have a rubber ducky around here some where. I think I would have trouble finding another chick her size this time of the year. That and the whole quarantine time it would take she would probably be old enough to join the other chickens by then. Good input. Thank you. I'm still open to more ideas if anyone has any.
