Report from solitary: hen ate some plain Greek yogurt and has a quart of water w 1T molassesRoger that
OH! now I see your missive. Yes, I'll 86 the Epsom waterI would skip the epsom salts water. It would give her diarrhea. It is used as a flush when eating a toxin is suspected. She probably needs to drink fluids to get hydrated, not dehydrated, but that is just my opinion.
I wouldn't give the Molasses either. It can also act as a laxative or flush.I haven't checked her crop; I'll do that in the morning. The yellow discharge stopped. Her vent looks pretty good tonight. They all just went to bed, except for the jail bird.
A missive came in on my email, which I do not see here yet, that directed me to abort the Epsom salt water. I do have molasses in their pen water for the flock, and put it in the water w the isolated hen. That OK?
layer pellets from The Grange, a few handfuls of cracked corn when it's cold, plus rolled oats cooked in milk each night before bed. I'll retrieve the Molasses water. Grrr..I would give the Molasses either. It can also act as a laxative or flush.
Give her plain water to drink.
What do you feed?
