Thanks for all of your suggestions. I think we will split the coop in two with chicken wire and put the little ones out there when it warms up in a couple of weeks.
My dad knows what got his NH Red. He has seen a red fox coming through his yard every couple of days since the attack. One time it came within 20 yards of him but took off once it saw him. He has a live trap but doesn't think it is big enough to catch it.
Any suggestions?
