I'm definitely learning that. This is my first year with chickens so I haven't had any experience really. I think I am learning to accept it. I had to cull a chick the other day because it had defects. Usually I have my husband do it but he was at work and I decided it would be terrible to let it suffer to I handled it myself. It wasn't as awful as I thought it would be because I knew what needed to happen and I was the only one there to do it. So I'm now fully aware that there are losses and that bad things happen. I just want to do whatever I can to prevent them.
