One Day of Development (PICS)

Removed these eggs that were under my broody banty Cochin when we put her on different eggs we want her to hatch. These were under Shadow for one day. Decided to open them up and photograph the yolk at one day of development, just to show that development does start immediately. Tried with and without the flash.

Those are not baby Suedes are they?

Those were my Ameraucana and EE eggs (BR roo) she started sitting on in the main coop. I wanted her to hatch the BBS Orps and BRs instead, so these were like "place holders" till we could get her broody pen built and her moved (done!)

Its just astonishing that they are able to get to chicks size in only 21 days. I figured they were a lot farther along then that by the end of the first day

By Day 4, you can see veins and a teensy, tiny beating heart if you crack one into a bowl, so development ramps up alot after Day One.
