A week ago I found one of my 2 yrs old R.R. in the bottom of coop dead. No apparent injuries. She was fine 2 hrs earlier when she was let out in the yard. She was stiff, still warm, but her neck was floppy, and her head was ice cold. I ran to the Ag supply to get some Wazine just in case, had never treated with that. A few days later I found my B.O. at bottom of coop later in morning. I found she had broken off one of her back toe nails. It wouldn't stop bleeding so I used blood stop and wrapped it to keep clean. It seemed to help as she was getting around, eating, drinking, and running. A couple days later she started hanging out around the coop again. Her bandage had fallen off but looked fine. I opted to put some Vetericyn gel just in case of infection. She is still not herself: She hangs out at the bottom of coop off/on, pecks at ground in coop keeping her head low, when sitting looks like she is jerking a little, does a head jerk now/then, but still eating/drinking/getting around/roosting, and I am not sure if she is laying because they all have to dog pile on each other for the same laying space. SO I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS. DOES IT SOUND SERIOUS? OR IS MY DEAD R.R. AND HER BROKEN NAIL CAUSING ME MORE CONCERN THAN NECESSARY?
