My otherwise healthy 7-8 month old hen has developed a couple black wart-like spots on her left waddle, and she has a clear bubbly discharge from the eye on that same side of the body. I'm assuming this is avian pox, but what about the eye issue? She has never laid eggs, so I suspect this is a symptom as well.

Do you just let avian pox run it's course, with no meds? What about the eye bubbles?

Thanks for your help.

far as i know there isn't meds for pox since it cant be cured.. have to let it run its coarse, but i've heard of people using, black shoe polish, toothpaste, sharpie, and a few other things i cant think of on it to help it go away sooner.. not sure on the bubble eye.

Thanks for your reply - that helps me alot

Anyone else know what could be causing the bubble eye at the same time as the pox?

Let's hope you don't have wet pox along with the black spots. The wet pox seem to effect the eyes more and can even cause blindness. chickabator has been having trouble with this in her flock. Do a search for wet pox.
