I have 14 2 month old hens. A friend has a duckling of the same age she's wanting to upload. Can 1 duck live with 14 hens? Plus, I have no water for the duck. Should I pass on the duck and just keep to my hens?

Ducks NEED water, but very dangerous for chickens. However, if you keep the "water park" isolated from the chickens, everything should work out fine.

Our chickens and ducks live happy together. Chickens never bother the ducks swimming pool. only to drink

The ONLY caution I offer is pass if the duck is a drake. When he reaches sexual maturity, he will want to mount the hens, and duck and chicken "parts" are NOT compatible. A drake can seriously damage a chicken hen.

But if it's a girl duck, you'll be just fine. Ducks do not NEED swimming water, but they sure like it. A big ol' 40 gallon trough waterer would be perfectly fine for a duck. Or even one of those 10 buck plastic kiddie pools (the hard plastic kind, not the air-filled, blow up kind).

I keep ducks and chickens together and there are males and females of both and I dont have issues...

I have a kiddie pool the ducks swim the chickens stare
