Hi Newby hatcher with 1st hatch. Egg pipped external pip Saturday around 10pm. Today no change had happened and I got very concerned. I opened up a small enough portion for babies beak to peak out. Ive read tons of articles about how to do this safely. Now its Monday and still no change. She is active and talking away. Humidity is 79%. Temp 100.9. Looks wet in her egg still, not too dry.
Do I wait still or do I intervene.
(My bator didn't get humidity high enough so I have a blanket over bator with a humidifier under that raised the humidty perfectly. I have airholes not blocked. Any and all advice welcome. Im checking every hour and a wreck of course. Excuse the rough pics. Took a few to get it visible.

How is it doing??

I recommend that you remove more shell - going towards the bigger end, then making your way down. Stop if it bleeds. If it doesn't, keep going. It's a log time for it to be hatching - I'm concerned that it may be past ready to hatch. If that's the case, you don't want to wait any longer to act!

So at the 48 hour mark I went unto action. I peeled most of the shell and left most of the membrane which had started to dry out. I did help baby half way out so it could breathe and wiggle and left it to do the rest. I went to sleep at 1am knowing baby had a excellent chance. I got up at 8am feeling sick to even look. Baby was calling my name!!!! Thank the Lord, but still looking wet and laying down. I think it took a while to get free. How long should it take for it to be up and walking? I know atleast 12 hours to dry. Holy nerve-racking. I need a drink lol.
Ps. My baby is Khacki Campbell and Rouen mix. Looking like Rouen so far with yellow stripes!♡♡

That's great! I'm glad it's ok.

It is probably sooo exhausted, definitely looks like it's been ready to get out for a while, give it time to recover. It should perk up soon enough.

How are the others, though?

My baby is doing amazing now. All fluffy and happy! Thank you for your advice. I have another who has pipped as of yesterday so I know exactly what to do. A different one died and never pipped. So much to learn and so sad when they get that far only not to make it. :(
